Roscoe Village's Neighborhood Bike Shop

Buddy Lee Tweedie was born sometime around 2003 He was picked up by animal control and eventually made his way to a shelter called Orphans of the Storm. When Alex and Lesley met Buddy he was about 1 year old and he was very sad. Over time Buddy became less sad but he still usually has a worried look on his face. He works as a lazy greeter at Roscoe Village Bikes. He likes other dogs so feel free to bring yours by but Buddy will probably bark a little. Buddy doesn’t bark at or jump on people and he is very gentle and friendly with kids.

In December 2007 Lesley and Alex decided to launch the Buddy Fan Club because Buddy had made so many friends. The launching included a coloring activity and candy cane give away at Roscoe Village Neighbor’s Winterfest. The Buddy Fan Club buttons cost $5.00 and all proceeds go to charities that help dogs and people. Previous Buddy Fan Club beneficiaries have been Orphans of the Storm in Riverwoods, IL, PAWS Chicago, the Anti-Cruelty Society, Chicago Canine Rescue, The Red Door Animal Shelter, ARF House Chicago, Greyhounds Only, Alive Rescue, and New Leash on Life Chicago.

Buddy now has over 575 members in his fan club and in 2012 he was honored to win Racked Chicago’s Racked Award for Coolest Store Sidekick.
