Road bikes are meant to go fast. They will tend to have a 700 centimeter diameter wheel which is larger than the 26” wheels found on most mountain bikes.  The larger wheels and thinner tires give you more speed.  In general, as you go up in price with road bikes you get a lighter weight bike and higher end components such as derailleurs, shifters and wheels.  Road bikes can be steel, aluminum, carbon, titanium or a combination of materials.  Each material has is own ride characteristics so it is a good idea to test ride.  We’ll also include cyclo-cross and track bikes with Road Bikes.  Here are some of our favorites:
